UPDATE DECEMBER 15, 2015

The specialist examined Dakota thoroughly and stated that he does not need surgery and does not have any limitations. He exhibits no signs of pain and is able to play, go up and down stairs and a new trick he showed us is that he can open doors with lever handles! Dakota is good to go!!

UPDATE  DECEMBER 7, 2015

Dakota was seen by our vet today and needs to see a specialist for his hips.  We have an appointment on the 15th of December and we will post updates when we know more.

Hi!  My name is Dakota and I am an 8 year old pup who loves to hang out! My prior owner loved me very much but was unable to keep me.  He knew VGSR would find me a wonderful home.

I am well behaved but I do like to try to counter surf.  My foster parents verbally correct me and of course I listen.  I have made new friends in my foster home with four other dogs.  I like to play, lay on soft bedding and really like my crate.  I don't like little white dogs but my foster parents dogs don't like them either so I don't feel so bad about that.  I do like other small dogs though.  I am good with children as I used to live with them.

I am looking for a home where someone will hang out with me and enjoy my company.  I may be 8 but I still have good energy and a great disposition! I need a little work on recall but I do know "Sit" "Down" and a short "stay".  I walk fairly well on leash with a martingale collar.

I like to back out of rooms instead of turning around. My foster parents think it is funny!

My foster parents seem tempted to adopt me since I fit in perfectly! I have been a great dog here but really want to find my forever home.
