11/01/2015 Sascha is a 2 1/2 - 3 year old princess. She is a typical shepherd who wants to be under your feet or in your lap unless there happens to be a squirrel in the area. She will bark and try to climb trees all day long as long as she thinks a squirrel is in it.
She has had some obedience but is a very impatient girl and will listen like a 2 year old child (when she wants to). She wants to dash everywhere except into the dog crate in a car and has pulled me over twice, but always ran back to see if I was OK.
She does dribble a little when very excited but has never had an accident in the house. I do keep her crated at night but I believe she would be fine left in the house. She does get frightened during thunder storms and will bark at anything that has changed in her environment. Whenever I move my potted plans around she will act like the big protector that she is unless she is satisfied that the new item is not a threat.
She is good with people and other dogs as long as she is not challenged. She has been to many adoption events and has been a crowd pleaser and had many families wanting to adopt her. I would not recommend a family with small children as she does use her mouth a lot. And of course, no cats or small critters since she has a high prey drive. She would do best in a house as a single dog since she does have a jealous streak but may do well with a calm older dog she can round circles around. She is mouthy and loud so if you can put up with that, she is the perfect dog for adoption.
She has many toys, and enjoys them but gets bored easily then goes to her dog bowl, flips it over and drives it around the room. Again, high energy and restless so I would recommend a lot of exercise and a job for her.
