11-26-14 update:  Lewis is a handsome young man that is enjoying his second lease on life by lounging by the fan to keep cool on hot summer days, sitting in front of the fire on the call winter nights, sleeping on soft cozy beds, playing with toys and chewing bones.  Lewis requires a strong leader and future owner that has knowledge about the GSD breed as at his young age he needs direction.  Lewis is enjoying meeting new people as he goes to the petstore, walks and having visitors stop by and meet him.  He enjoys playing with his foster siblings that include three Chihuahuas that boss him around, a sister shepherd and a brother dutchie.  He also has a foster sister that came in from the same rural shelter which they could be relatives.  Lewis has had the opportunity to meet the house cats and have a chat with them about the food they were eating, but they were a little upset with him and asked him to move on.  After the cats were done with their snack Lewis was able to stick around and take a nap with his new buddies.  Upon finishing his nap he want outside to get some fresh air and ran into some other cats who were not as friendly and reminded him of a squirrel.  Lewis wants to remind anyone interested in him that dog friendly cats are a must.  He does not live with children but has the opportunity to meet the neighbors kids as well as a couple in the store.  Lewis likes to meet you and lean up against you so even though little children are ok he might knock them over.  Lewis likes to go for rides as each new place is an adventure.
