09/03/2014: I’ve had Sasha, a two year old GSD, for a month. She was picked up by animal control due to neglect and being severely underweight. She is almost at a healthy weight now. She had for Canine Ehrlichiosis when she was picked up, but luckily it was caught in time and treated. When I got Sasha, she was in heat and it restricted what we could do. I'm happy to report that she out of heat and we can now attend events.

Sasha has had a rough time, but she has taken it in stride and is as loving as can be. She doesn’t know how to play with toys. Still, resilient Sasha is making the best of it and focusing on learning. She has learned to sit, down, come, and fetch in this short time. She is getting refreshers on these commands, and learning to "stay" and "wait". Sasha is house trained and crate trained. She walks right into her crate when I tell her "go crate". She whines a little when I'm leaving, but settles down nicely in a few minutes.

Sasha has met my cat and they have sniffed each other. Sasha will get somewhat exited when she sees or hears the cat, but I haven't seen any aggression. Sasha is scheduled to be spayed on September 19 and she should be good to go after that.
