Schatzi is a 7-year-old owner surrender with a great personality. Her name says it all – “Schatz” is German for “treasure” or “darling.”

She gets more charming every day - her personality is slowly coming through as she adjusts to living with her foster. 

She is a medium-energy dog who enjoys her walks - she is very good on her leash and she will look to her person for guidance/approval. 

She is playing ball a little bit more each day and she likes to sit up on her back legs and prop her front legs on your chair when she decides she needs attention. She was probably not socialized much with other dogs during her first seven years, but she is learning, and she does well at adoption events with other large dogs, especially when they are German Shepherds like herself.

She has a high prey drive and does not get along with cats and small dogs. She has EPI which is easily managed with a small scoop of enzyme powder at each meal.

Schatzi attends many of the adoption events in Springfield, Tysons, Annandale and Fairfax.
