Kaiser is a smart and fun-loving puppy who always wants to be near his family. He enjoys going on walks, wrestling, retrieving toys, taking naps, and chewing sticks. Kaiser is very eager to learn new things, especially when treats are involved. We have put him to work as a "scent dog" and he is a star!
This sweet, loyal, and energetic goofball would make an excellent family companion. We know that he does well in an environment with older children. As of now, we are unaware of how he behaves with smaller children. He gets along well with our family dog, but at times needs to be "put in his place." Kaiser is crate and house trained. As with any puppy, he would benefit from further obedience training to improve his leash manners.
About 4 months ago, "Kai" suffered an injury to his spine that caused a compression fracture in one vertebra. This limited his rear leg strength and thus his ability to jump certain heights. Some nerve damage also effected his coordination. Over the past 3 months, Kai has made great improvements. He is now able to wag his tail again! While he may not be able to hop into bed with you, Kai still has plenty of strength to walk, play, and even run. No injury would keep this boy from showing his family how much he appreciates all their love!
