Ok, now that we got that out of the way, let me tell you a true story. My dad works at the Washington Navy Yard, and on 16 Sep he came home late and quite upset. When I and my canine roommate welcomed him home, which we always do, we made a special effort to let him know we cared. No one told us, we just knew, and he knew we knew. That is the kind of friend I am. Ask him when you see him, the memory still brings tears to his eyes. But that is not all I can and will be in my forever home:

• I am smart, loyal, and very protective. If you act as a friend to me, we’ll bond real quick
• I am very affectionate and love attention (especially belly rubs) and just being close to my person.
• I’d love to be an only dog and prefer a cat-free environment . I like chew toys, but can live without them
• I am a happy kind of guy and can get silly at times, but it is an endearing kind of silly – really, you will enjoy it too
• I can run after much younger dogs at the dog park and generally play nice with them. I just don’t like other dogs getting in my face in a confined area or when I am tired
• I can do stairs, get in and out of cars unassisted, and go on long walks without getting tired, but if one evening you are just too exhausted for a long walk, I will understand. Just take me around the block to give me a chance to do my business outside and I won’t complain
