Hi, Im Zarya! I was picked up by Prince William Animal Control and brought in as a stray. No one came to claim me and I feared the worst. Luckily, VGSR volunteers came to meet me and took me in. Now, I am living with 4 other dogs 3 boys and a girl. At first, I tried to be dominant but quickly learned my place. I am about 10 pounds underweight, but have a healthy appetite. I am easily startled and will scurry from scary noises and loud voices. I am learning not to mouth and tug on clothes for attention. My foster mom keeps telling me that climbing up a person is not acceptable, but I just want lots of love. I like to carry a stuffed toy around the house and relaxing with an antler. I enjoy running after a ball in my own version of fetch-away Im not sure I want to give it back to you. I know sit, but need to run off my initial welcome home energy before I can focus after that I am all yours. I like to be close and always come back quickly when I realize you arent following me. I ride very well in the car and am learning leash manners. I am crate-trained, but it isnt my favorite place. I have earned sleeping out of the crate at night with the pack and will curl up on the floor next to you all night. I hope to meet some children soon to see how I like them, as I am looking for a family that will play fetch-away, take me for light jogs or long walks and let me curl up for belly rubs and kisses at night. Is that you? |
