.They say looks aren't everything... but I've got 'em... and I'm going to capitalize on them. I'm a 2-3 year old female. I'm a tomboy. I'm all shepherd. What that means is I'd love something to do, a job, or a sport, or just an active hobby. I've probably got some fairly good GERMAN Shepherd in my blood, not the watered-down American lines most people are familiar with. I have the drive, the energy, and the fearlessness that my "working" ancestors were known for. If you're looking for a couch potato, or a foot warmer, I'm not your gal. But if you jog, or want to do some sort of activity with me, I'm there. Most recently I've been enjoying two-mile walks on the C & O Canal, and am ready to go longer if my foster mom didn't wear out so quickly. Dascha is a good dog, but some might misunderstand her aloofness and activity level as disinterested and out of control. She will thrive with someone who leads an active lifestyle and wants their dog to participate too. She rides well in the car, likes the water, and is crate trained. Unfortunately Dascha cannot be placed in a home with cats - she would likely kill one at the first opportunity. Although she may do OK with a submissive male dog, ideally she should be an "only dog", as introductions have not gone well in her foster home with the resident dogs. Without a regular outlet for her energy, she will likely become essentially ADHD and/or destructive as her way to cope. It's probably the reason she ended up at the shelter and nobody came looking for her. In the right hands, she will be someone's dream come true. Looks, drive, confidence - everything a GSD should be. New adopters will be required to take formal obedience classes.
