Hi, my name is Lex. I had been with VGSR almost four years ago as a young dog. My dad adopted me back in April 2010 but recently has been very sick and could no longer care for me. So now I am back with my original foster mom and dad. I love to run and chase balls with my foster GSD siblings. I'm faster than all of them and can keep going long after they're ready to go in the house. I love to play and wrestle with other dogs but I am loud and sometimes play too rough for some dogs. I walk fairly well on leash, come back to you if you stop, know sit, stay, paw, and down and love to ride in the car and go hiking. I have been in the country most of my life so I look to you for help when I'm in a new situation or going to the store. I am a leaner and like to rub up against love to have my chest and butt scratched. My former dad had horses and I used to trail ride with him which I really  enjoyed. Kids scare me and due to my size and play style I probably shouldn't go to homes with ones under 12. I am good with both resident cats here although I do chase them once in awhile. However, I am good about taking verbal corrections when I do. My former dad told foster mom if I get bored I can easily get out of a six foot fence but since being back in VGSR I have made no attempts to jump the fence here which is only four feet.  I probably need to go to a single family home because I complain when I first go in the crate. I'm really looking forward to finding a forever home that can provide me with lots of activity, no couch potato here. I love to ride in the car, be brushed, and getting in the water to cool off on a hot day. I am very good at getting a bath, my nails done and don't mind be hosed off when I get muddy and dirty.
