Sailor 6820 is a young puppy around 5-6 months old. Sailor's story began in California where she was adopted from a shelter by a senior couple who didn't provide her with any training or structure. Sailor being a mouthy, energetic and very playful puppy nipped one of their ankles during her playful mouthiness. She was surrendered back to the shelter and this incident was classified as a bite. Sailor was scheduled to be euthanized when we became aware of her. A generous California donor paid her $650 transport fee so she could make her way across the country to VGSR! We are SO thankful we were able to save her life. It's hard to imagine how a young puppy like Sailor could be put down but it's happening all over the country because animal shelters and rescues are in a crisis (most people have no idea how bad it is). 

So now a little about Sailor! She is a goofy puppy, one who trips over her paws when chasing a ball and who has a zest for life! She is playful and happy. She loves everyone she meets and is friendly! She loves playing with other dogs and she especially loves loves loves playing in water! Due to her lack of training and her puppy behavior, she is a mouthy girl who likes to nibble on hands and feet. She also jumps when excited. We are working on basic manners and she has mastered "sit" and has "down" pretty good. She hasn't had any accidents so far and has been good in her crate. She needs an adopter who understands she is young, she is a puppy and it will require time and patience to work through her puppy phase of nibbling/mouthing hands. She likes toys, she will find a shoe to chew or get into other things if not supervised as she is in the toddler phase! She needs an adopter who is committed to training so she can be the best girl she can be!
