12/30/23. With his magnificent good looks and super-sweet personality, Ranger is an easy dog to fall in love with!

Ranger is a 2-year-old dark sable German Shepherd.  Other than his good looks, Ranger’s main feature is that he still has some silly puppy behaviors.  He is mouthy and he will counter-surf when you’re not looking so he will need a strong leader.  He would not be good in a home with small children as he does not understand which stuffed animals are his and which ones belong to someone else.  He will chase tennis balls and chew on both appropriate and inappropriate items, so he needs to be supervised and well-supplied with plenty of toys.

Ranger was surrendered by his original owners after being hit by a car and sustaining a leg injury, which has since been treated.  The leg doesn’t seem to bother him - he walks fine and he is a bundle of energy, running around the yard to play with his foster cousins Artemis 6434 and Blair 6333.  He is also house-trained and crate-trained.

Overall, Ranger is just a really nice dog who bonds quickly and is pretty happy-go-lucky.  So far, he has been playful with other dogs, or he ignores them, and he would probably be okay as an only dog.  He would do well a home where he can have lots of long walks, play time, and maybe even some hiking or other activities.  During the day, he is a Velcro dog and, at night, he likes to snuggle in bed with his person.
