Ruger is a sweet boy that is rapidly growing into his ears. He is housetrained, crate trained, and has done well in short periods left at large in the house with his foster GSD sisters (though does sometimes cause mischief). He walks well on a leash and knows sit, stay, come and is working on off and down (usually requires a treat, but he'll do it)...He is learning quickly and is very food motivated. He arrived unvaccinated and appeared not to have been socialized with dogs previously so was scared of his foster sisters at first, but has quickly learned to play chase and tug of war with them. He is very even tempered and even has my grumpy GSD playing with him. He also loves to sit in the window like a cat and watch the neighborhood. He has an adult bark and wants to do his duty to protect the house from strangers. Once inside people become his friends and he looks for attention.

Ruger was not vetted/vaccinated by his original owner, and tested positive for parvo, giardia and hookworm. After a couple of days at the veterinary hospital he is home and doing great. He has loads of energy, loves to play and eat and get into a little mischief. He received his rabies and other initial vaccinations 1/4/2024. 

He needs a lot of exercise and interaction like any GSD puppy, but could live in a house or apartment as long as their is immediate outside access to an off-leash area as he does not yet potty on leash. Since he wasn't vaccinated, he will need to be socialized with other dogs, but should do well - right now he is very interested, and is frustrated that he is not allowed to meet them.
