Miss Daisy Mae is scheduled to be adopted 12/30/23. She remains listed incase the adoption falls thru. Say hello to Miss Daisy Mae. She has just arrived so keep an eye out on her profile for our updates as she starts to settle in. 12/19/2023 - It looks as though Miss Daisy Mae's wish is going to come true just after Christmas - a furever home. If it falls thru I think she will have plenty of folks in line waiting. She is such an awesome girl. She is still very velcro but has become much more confident in herself. That is, except for moving cars. She's not too sure about those and would prefer to be well away from them. She is a high energy girl and can happily go for hours - rough housing, walking/hiking, playing fetch. Seldom does she actually admit to being too tired. She is doing much better with the cats as long as it is indoors only. Outside, she still wants to chase. She has started giving nudges and kisses to thew various kitties that allow it. Happily all the cats (we have 5) are willing to be in the same room with her, some much more vigilant than others. He resource guarding of the living room coffee table continues. That is her place in the living room and will dive under it if she thinks a cat or dog might take it. If left unsupervised with food on the table - yup, she thinks you left it for her. She loves sticks and balls and playing fetch as well as rough housing with our resident GSD. A light correction is usually all that is needed and she is immediately asking for forgiveness and love. Her favorite place would be in your lap getting snuggles. If she wants your attention, she has no problem barking a few times to get it. They are the happy barks, not the warning bark type. But they are loud. LOL 12/11/2023 - Mis Daisy Mae did very well at the vet today. She went in for a couple boosters and greeted everyone with smiles. 11/26/2023 - Well Miss Daisy Mae has been with use for just over a week now. She is settling in and has become a velcro dog. She definitely wants to be near her person/people. She loves to run in the yard and will play fetch which is great to burn off some of her energy. Happily she can settle and chill in the house but expect her to be your shadow if not underfoot should you get up. There are currently 2 other dogs in the house (GSD and an old mutt - both female) and in general she gets along with them. She enjoys rough housing with the GSD but leaves the old girl alone. She does a bit of resource guarding - namely the coffee table as she likes to lie underneath. Not sure if it is me or the table she is guarding. We also have 5 cats which has been a mixed bag. She definitely has a prey drive so outdoor kitties would be a no. Indoor kitties would need to be confident, used to large dogs, more of a plop down than a run away, and have their claws. She isn't a puller on the leash but does do the walk back and forth in front of you so a bit of training would be good. She is house trained and does very well taking advantage of whenever she is outside. She is not crate trained but she and the other pups spend the night in our mudroom/laundry room. They also go in there if I have a big conference call or if I Step away from the house for a bit. Initially she had issues being separated but she has settled into the routine and now naps, plays with her toys and no longer jumps at the door to get out. In just a week she is sooo much better.
