Sadie Mae is a 60 lbs very SWEET lady with a rough past. She was found as a stray and brought to a Shelter in North Carolina. She had birthed puppies, but no puppies were found when personnel from the shelter went back searching. She was also spayed at the shelter and stayed there longer than she should waiting for adopters that said they were coming to adopt her, but never came. Vets estimate that she is around 2 years old. She is a medium to petite dog with a huge heart. She very much enjoys going for long walks, but she is also very content with being a couch potato. She is very people friendly, and after proper introduction, she seems to get along with most dogs. She can be a bit anxious on car rides, but after 15-20 minutes, she will realize that all is good, and will calm down. Sadie Mae is potty trained, and we are working on her basic commands, but has great recall. I’ve had Sadie Mae for a week, and she seems shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she will follow you around, and watch curiously every move you make. She seems to be very low energy, and if prompted, she will run and play with you. She can be very vocal but doesn’t bark at people or other dogs. She does let me know when she needs to go outside to potty or wants to go for a walk. She is not shy and likes to get people’s attention and demand more belly rubs and kisses, definitely enjoys receiving love and long-lasting pets. She likes being outside but favors being indoors. A fenced yard is preferred, but not necessary. She hasn’t been tested around cats or kids, but so far, her gentle manners and sweet personality shows a lot of potential. Sadie Mae’s sweet personality makes her an ideal member of any family. I am still learning about her and will report an update as soon as I have more info about her.
