If you are looking for beauty, intelligence and unwavering love and devotion then Dixie 4693 is your girl! Dixie is a very active 5 year old GSD. She loves to romp and play chase around the yard with her two canine foster brothers. Dixie was evidently raised in a very sheltered environment the first 4 and ¾ years of her life. All of a sudden Dixie's whole world came crashing down around her. A large void entered her life when she lost her 4 legged companion then only 3 short months later her owner passed away and Dixie found herself all alone in a very scary world full of unknowns. Thankfully VGSR was there to help this precious scared little girl and Dixie was transported to her foster home. Dixie formed an immediate bond with her foster mom and has been her shadow ever since! Dixie and her GSD foster brother, Ruger, quickly formed a strong bond with each other as well. Dixie has a large extended foster family who love her dearly but she has been very slow to warm up them. We have been slowly introducing Dixie to new people, places and things and she is progressing but at a slow pace. Dixie has come a long way but she still has a long way to go. We feel that Dixie would do best in a quiet home with another dog. Her new family would need to have GSD experience, considerable patience and understanding and be willing to put in the time it takes to continue the socialization process with Dixie to help her become the best GSD that she can be.
