Contact Apollo 4731's Caretaker/Foster Directly: Dawn (muttsncatsvgsr@gmail.com)
17 March 2019 Howdy! Apollo continues to thrive. He loves playing ball, hanging out with his pals and soaking up all the attention he can. Apollo has been diagnosed with IBD and has begun a special diet and is being monitored.
16 November 2018 Apollo is back in action! He is no longer in pain, has recovered and adapted remarkably well and has learned the game of 'chase' and is beginning to figure out 'ball'. Apollo will be attending local events and his foster may be contacted at muttsncatsvgsr@gmail.com 4 October 2018 Apollo had surgery to amputate his right front leg. The surgeon relayed that there was no muscle on Apollo's leg. The surgery was very smooth and Apollo handled it like a champ. He spent the night in the hospital, stealing hearts. He came home last night and we begin a 2 week rehab. He is happy to be home and enjoying 'Peanut Butter Pill Time' and meals. He is a bit wobbly, but mobile. Once his sutures are removed and he is cleared by his doctor, Apollo will get to romp and play with Dolph and attend events. 26 September 2018 Apollo had a surgical consult for his right front leg. The diagnosis is severe degenerative osteoarthritis that has compromised the joint and all three bones. Due to the severity of his condition, the surgeon has advised that amputation is the best course for Apollo. Fortunately, his other elbow is in perfect health. The specialist expects Apollo to have no issues with the procedure and post-op adjustment as he is not using his right front leg now. Apollo and his buddy, Dolph, are settling in and have started to romp and play together. 2 September 2018 Apollo is a goofy, sweet guy. He is great with other dogs, loves to ride in the car and enjoys a good bone to gnaw. Overall Apollo is in good health, but he does have an issue with his right front elbow. Apollo walks and trots, only using the right paw to quickly touch the floor. At times he keeps it held up. He will be seeing a specialist to diagnosis the issue and how to address it. This does not keep Apollo down. He hasn't meet a stranger and loves to be loved.
