4/21/16 I've had Daisy for two weeks now and she has really warmed up and settled in. She loves to snuggle and eagerly awaits her after meal treats. She loves my 12 year old niece and runs around the house wagging her tail when she comes over. She's met several cats without issue. She's nonreactive on leash and walks beautifully. I also feel like she is no longer a flight risk - once she's warmed up, but she probably shouldn't ever be left unattended. She's never going to be a social butterfly, but she'll fit in wonderfully with the right family.
4/14/16 Meet Daisy. The world is a big scary place for her. She recently joined VGSR with her sister, Bella. They were forced to be given up (landlord issues) after the girls kept escaping their kennels and getting loose. I'm told they were indoor/outdoor dogs and she seems house trained and a fan of the bed and couch.
When I first met Daisy she would cower in fear. I've only had her for two days and she's glued to my side. Sudden movements and new people will send her running into a crate or a corner to hide away. She has warmed up quickly to me, but she will require patience and socialization to become more comfortable with her surroundings. She doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body and shows no reaction when my bully GSD runs at her barking. She is said to do well with kids and has been fine with my two year old son.
Daisy will absolutely require a fenced in yard, as I think she will always be a high flight risk. She would probably do best in a quiet home and will require a family who wants a dog to trip over. She has decided the best way to fall asleep is on top of my pillows with my head on her. She is desperate for comfort and affection and wants to be near you at all times.
Daisy is 5 and is currently being treated for Ehrlichia. She is being fostered near Winchester, VA.
