Hello there. My name is Sarge and I am a senior German Shepherd who is now enjoying a more comfortable life than I previously had. In late April 2013 I was brought to a shelter in the southern part of West Virginia with a broken wire tie-out cable around my neck. My owner never reclaimed me while I waited in the shelter. Lo and behold a nice lady and her husband came to the shelter in early May and brought me to their home. My life changed at that moment.
I now have a soft bed, a clean coat, good food and gentle hands are teaching me that there are people who just want to be kind to me. This is all so different. I have learned how to go up and down stairs, in and out of doors, eat treats from my foster mom and dad’s hands, run loose in their big fenced back yard and curl up on soft dog beds. I even play with their other dogs now and I REALLY like their young German Shepherd female. She is a cutie and I like to play chase with her. When you see me chase her, you would never know that I am a senior citizen. I can run like the wind when we play chase.
My foster mom and dad are working with me each day to help me learn to trust and relax. It gets a little easier each day. Please consider giving me a good home. I have had a rough first part of my life and I am so looking forward to an easier time now.
