Sweet Sampson 6716 is approximately 3 years old and was found as a stray in North Carolina. He was brought into his foster home very underweight but has had a hearty appetite since! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines.
Sammie has blossomed since arriving in his foster home! He is a typical velcro shepherd and wants to be by our side all the time, sometimes trying to become a lap dog. He absolutely loves being pet and seeks out affection frequently, but has been great at relaxing in the crate/bed with a toy. Sammie is very playful, LOVES to chew on his ball, and tries to get our resident shepherd to engage in rough housing. Even though he is thought to be 3, Sammie is truly a puppy at heart and is learning the rules of being a house pup. He explores the world with his mouth, and because of this, would do best in a home without children or with older/dog savvy kids. He has learned “sit”, “down”, and will gladly go into his crate if treats are offered! Anything for snacks!! We have also been working on loose-leash walking and he does very well on walks. Sampson doesn't mind being in his crate when the humans are gone and at night, but he prefers to be near us when we are home.
Sampson will thrive in an active home that provides consistency with training to boost his confidence! With proper introduction, Sammie would enjoy a playful doggie sibling, but no cats or small animals due to his drive to chase small creatures. We would also highly recommend a fenced backyard of at least 6 feet.
If you think you would be a good match for this sweet boy, please contact Bridgette at thestruthersfosters@gmail.com! Sampson can’t wait to find his furever home!
