7/12/2023 - Capone is settling in and learning the house routine. He did well at the vet for his checkup. No issues be touched all over although he didn't like his paws being touched but all he did was pull them away. Unfortunately his spay had to get pushed back to the 18th due to a scheduling conflict at the vet clinic. So lets talk kitties. While he is ok when monitored we have found he loves to chase them. While likely just a game to him, the possibility is too high for one to get accidentally hurt - he just gets too focused.  He continues to do well on a leash, car rides, and playing fetch. Today he had free roam with the other pups in the front of the house while I was at the office. I am very happy to report while he pulled tons of toys out of the toy box, the furniture and shoes were left intact, items on tables were where they were left and no smelly surprises. Yes, I was VERY happy.

7/4/2023 - Hello everyone, please meet the absolutely gorgeous, handsome Capone. He has the most intent, deep brown eyes and a big, strong body to go with it. He has just joined our pack and immediately started to make himself at home.  Capone is a solid boy that has been doing well with the other girls in the house – although I think they are a bit intimidated by him. We’ll see how things progress. The resident pups and kitties are still trying to figure who this big lug is and why he has invaded our house. As for kitties, they appear to be something new to him so he is learning manners and we are keeping a very close eye on his behavior as he does tend to get fixated on them.  He is working on making kitty friends and things look promises. He seems to have already started bonding with me and loves his squeaky toys and a good, long game of fetch.  He has done well on his walks, even when a unleashed dog was yapping at him, from a distance. No reaction from him and happily the little guy decided to head home and not continue to approach.  He will need an experienced handler as he comes from DDR lines and has the strength and size associated. His adopter would need to agree to continue his training as he is simply too large a dog not to be appropriately trained. He knows a few commands but they are not “ingrained” – sit, shake, and down.  More info to come.

Neuter scheduled for July 18th and we want to give him sufficient time to recover.

Approved, experienced adopters may reach out to me at AMutt4You@gmail.com
