Hi! I'm Layla. I am crate trained and house trained, walk well on a leash and love to go on walks. I have 2 canine sisters at my foster home. One was grumpy but now will play with me sometimes; the other will play with me and show me the ropes. I figured out they have trouble finding their way sometimes so I will herd them in the right direction (resident dogs are congenitally blind). There is food and water here and lots of it, unlike my last place. I love children, but am skittish when first meeting adults and especially anxious with men. I had a rough puppyhood, but am learning that there are people that will keep you safe.
Layla entered VGSR barely over 40 lbs, timid and fearful (and not house trained). She has blossomed quickly, though she still takes time to warm up to adults. She is a good eater and is now healthy and is closer to 60 lbs. She's smart, learning commands and house rules. She loves to play in the house both with her human and the other dogs. A crate works well to keep her out of trouble if she gets bored overnight.
She runs fast, likes to play, quickly attaches to her humans is good meeting children. She walks very well on a leash and takes treats gently. UTD on vaccines. She is very interested in food and has the usual puppy mischieviousness (I've lost a few socks) when you are out or not paying attention to her and needs toys that are difficult to chew apart. She is a super sweet and affectionate dog who is looking for love with a family, especially one with friendly dogs to show her the ropes or children to play with. I don't think she would do well in a house with only men/a man. She would likely try to play with a cat - foster doesn't have one to test the theory. Please contact foster at triebi@hotmail.com to meet her.
