I still like lots of loving. I really like it when my foster mom lays down on the floor in my bed. I run over, do a nose dive and slide into her so we’re spooning and I get lots of belly rubbing and loving. Sometimes we even wrestle a bit! I’ve gone on some home visits with her and have seen those really short-legged furry things. I think they’re called cats. I usually ignore them and walk right by them. I’m not quite sure of their use. While I very much like being here with my foster mom and her four-legged kids, I’d really love to have my own furever home. I’m not opposed to having brother and sisters mind ya, but I figure if it’s just me, then I get ALL the lovin’. 8/16/19 Sarah is my name and loving is my game. I’m 9 years old and I am looking for someone who would like to give me lots of belly rubs and take me on walks. Up until the past week, I spent my boring life outside in a small pen in all kinds of weather. I recently learned about air conditioning and it is the bomb! I get along with my family’s GSDs. I don’t know nothin’ about cats. The big dogs (deer) I don’t really care about. During the day, I love sleeping by my foster mom’s feet, which is what I do most of the day. Since I’ve been an outside dog for about 9 years, I’m learning all about going outside to potty. I’ve been doing pretty well. I’ve also learned about the crate. It took me a night or two, but I’ve now got it mastered. While spending all that time outdoors, I developed heartworms. Ugh. The really good news is that I’m only in stage 1. There was no indication of microfilaria in my heart or lungs and my blood panel looks great! I’m currently on Heartgard once a month to kill any worms and the antibiotic doxycycline. Being in that small enclosure for such a long time, I don’t have very much muscle on my hind quarters and my chest could use some more. Right now my foster mom takes me on about 6 very short walks a day plus going up and down 2 steps when we go in and out of the house. I’ve gotten so much better walking and getting up those steps in such a short time, you wouldn’t believe it! When we walk, I sometimes sneak in between my foster mom’s legs while she is walking and it makes her laugh. When she calls me I come to her and head butt her knees. Gently of course! She snuggles my head and that makes me so happy!! I really like my human and want to be with her whenever I can, which is most of the time. Sarah is a sweet, sweet girl who would really love to be a companion to someone who is looking for a loyal, loving girl.
