11/03/16 update:

Elsa is starting to let herself relax. Though she is still very excitable and high strung, Elsa has really worked hard at listening when she's told to sit, leave something, come when called, etc. She gleefully runs to the crate when it's time to eat, and takes treats sweetly and gently like a pro. We are working on not putting her paws on the counter or trash surfing (but who can say no to yummy people food) and she's starting to show remorse and understanding when she disobeys orders. Elsa has been to the dog park twice and I've concluded that she does have some leash aggression. Once she is off lead, she will run and play with other dogs endlessly but being on a leash is definitely a trigger for her, probably because she's never been controlled in that way before. We are working on this and Elsa is progressing nicely. My kitten Stache and Elsa have a nighttime ritual as well. After all the animals get on the bed, Elsa grooms Stache until he is nice and covered in slobber before cuddling for bed. Elsa has also grown extremely attached to me and is crazy affectionate. She goes ballistic when I come home and will literally shove her entire face into me to get as much love as possible. She is patiently waiting for a furever home that will love her as much as she'll love them, and help teach her the way of the world.

10/25/16  Elsa came to me as a stray a week ago and though she was in good physical condition, she has clearly never known "rules". She was not house trained and did not know how to sit or interact appropriately with other dogs. Despite all of this she was an exceedingly happy and hyper little girl! Elsa, over the past week, has learned some basic commands and is starting to respond to her new name. She house trained rather quickly, though she loves to take her time pottying outside. Elsa is VERY agile and very fast. Her favorite thing to do is run and play, and she can do it for hours. Elsa is still working on manners like not putting her paws on the counter and not putting the cat's entire heads in her mouth, but she is exceedingly intelligent and eager to please. Elsa will need a family that is going to provide her with plenty of exercise and stimulation, as well as concrete rules and training. She would do well in a home with another young dog as a play companion but I would not recommend her for a family with an older dog since she is so high strung. Due to her current lack of manners I wouldn't recommend her to a family with small children either, but I think a young active couple would be her match made in heaven!

If you are looking for both a playmate and cuddle bug all in one, Elsa is it. She truly has a lot of spirit and has adjusted very well to her new situation. Now she just needs somewhere to call home forever.
